Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau has revealed why they killed 43 rice farmers in Zabarmari, about 20 kilometres from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
KanyiDaily had reported how Boko Haram terrorists beheaded 43 rice farmers on Saturday in Borno, less than 20 km from Maiduguri, where Nigerian Army has used as headquarters in the ongoing war against insurgency.
In a video obtained by HumAngle, Shekau claimed responsibility for the killing, saying the farmers were slaughtered for collaborating with the Nigerian army to arrest its members.
“You think you can arrest our brother and hand him to soldiers and live in peace. You think Allah will forget what you have done to our brother,” he said.
The Boko haram leader warned that the same fate will behold those who collaborates with the army if they don’t repent.
“This message is for those who notoriously nab our brethren and hand them to the military or give them a clue on us.
“You should know that, unless you repent, what happened to your people is awaiting you,” a masked commander of the group warned in the video.
The farmer’s killings is coming weeks after 11 men were killed by Boko Haram insurgents who also kidnapped 9 women at Takulashe village of Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State.
