Popular Nigerian singer, Davido has taken to social media to deact after his hit single, ‘IF’ got certified Gold in the United States.
The song “If” which was released in 2017 received an RIAA Gold plaque in the US, which means the record has successfully sold 500,000 copies in America.
Reacting to the accomplishment on Wednesday via his Twitter page, Davido simply gave all the glory to God.
In another tweet, Davido revealed that “If” is his second single to be certified Gold in the US after another 2017 single “Fall” achieved the same feat about eight months ago.
He wrote: “My 2nd Gold record !!! Oh God I am Grateful !! The Only two Afro beats solo singles to go Gold in the USA in Afro beats history !! God is good !!! MORE TO COME !”
KanyiDaily recalls that Davido’s ‘Fall’ is the longest charting Nigerian song on the Billboard chart, and was recognized as the most Shamazed Non-American song in the US.
“Fall” also have almost 200 million views on YouTube, making it the most viewed music video by any Nigerian artist on the streaming channel.
