Burna Boy Says He’s Not A Nigerian Artiste, Doesn’t Make Money From The Country

Grammy award-winning singer, Burna Boy has claimed that he’s not a Nigerian artiste and doesn’t make money from the country.

Burna Boy made this claim in response to a tweet that jokingly addressed his critics, saying that he would soon exit Twitter.

“Me wey no even be Nigerian artist,” the singer responded.

Burna Boy’s response prompted a follower to accuse him of denying his motherland despite promoting the African culture.

“But you dey promote African culture and you Dey deny your own motherland, all na showbiz as usual,” a user slam the singer.

But the singer replied saying he is only living in Nigeria because he love his home and his people, but has never benefitted from the country.

“I’m from here and I live here because I love my home and my people, E no pass like that. I don’t make money from Nigeria. Na only cruise dey here,” he wrote.

 

KanyiDaily recalls that River State Governor, Nyesom Wike, had promised to give N10 million to Burna Boy and others who performed at his homecoming party in Port Harcourt.
