Gunmen Kills Kogi State Commissioner, Kidnap LG Chairman

It’s a very bad day in Kogi State as unknown gunmen have murdered the commissioner of the state pension board, Mr Adebayo Solomon, and abducted the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government, Mr Pius Kolawole.

Spokesman of the state police command, DSP William Aya confirmed on Sunday that the commissioner and the LGA chairman were travelling along side others when the incident took place.

According to him, the report was brought to the police by 4:30pm on Saturday and they moved to the scene as early as possible.

The whereabouts of the Chairman and others that were abducted is yet to be known, as the abductors haven’t called to mention any reason for the abduction.

However, the driver of the commissioner survived the attack while the corpse of Akeweje was deposited at the morgue of ECWA Hospital, Egbe.

KanyiDaily had earlier reported how Kogi Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja, corruptly acquired multi-billion naira properties in Abuja.
