Former Anambra State Governor, Chukwuemeka Ezeife has arrived the Federal High Court in Abuja for trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
KanyiDaily had earlier reported that Ezeife was appointed by the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo to lead its delegation that will witness and monitor the court proceedings in Kanu’s case.
Ohanaeze also named the National Legal Adviser, Barrister Joseph Ojobu and Chief Goddy Uwazuri, as the lawyers who would representing the group on a watching brief.
The IPOB leader will be arraigned today, July 26, 2021, for the continuation of his trial before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
He is facing several charges among which are possession of illegal firearms, terrorism and Treasonable felony, which carries the death penalty.
The trial comes following the arrest and extradition of Nnamdi Kanu to Nigeria on Sunday, June 27, after he jumped bail and fled the country in 2017.
