Hisbah Summons Actress Ummah Shehu For Accusing Their Officers Of Being Womanisers

Kano State Hisbah Board has summoned a Kannywood actress, Ummah Shehu, over some allegations she leveled against the Islamic police while reacting to the recent arraignment of her colleague, Sadiya Haruna.

KanyiDaily had reported how Sadiya Haruna was arrested, detained and arraigned by Hisbah for “uploading sexual contents on her social media handles”.

Sadiya was accused of consistently posting indecent videos in which she was seen dancing seductively and making sexual comments on her social media handles and YouTube channel.

Reacting to Sadiya’s arraignment in a video shared on her social media page, Ummah Shehu said that nobody is free of sin, adding that she knows top Hisbah officers who are womanisers.

“Why did Hisbah arrested Sadiya? What she did as far as I’m concerned is between her and God. Why did they interfere?

“This Hisbah people sin too, I know many of their top officers who are womanisers and if I mention names shame will catch many.” BBC quoted her saying.

Hisbah Moves Against Ummah Shehu

Reacting in an interview with the BBC, Hisbah commandant, Harun Sani Ibn Sina said the Islamic police have summoned Ummah Shehu to prove her claim that the organization is turning a blind eye on its officials while frowning at commoners.

Ibn Sina said the actress must shed light on the allegations she made against Hisbah, warning that if she fails to submit herself and clarify the grey areas, the board will sue her for slandering.

“We’ve not declared her a wanted person; what we’re saying is that she’ll submit herself to us and clarify the allegations she made against us for the general public to know.

“If what she’s said is factual and accurate, it demands further investigation. But if she fails to convince us, we will sue her for libel,” Ibn Sina said.

KanyiDaily had also reported how another Kannywood actress, Rahama Sadau was charged to court for blasphemy over racy photos she posted on social media.
