“My Attire Is Not IPOB Or Biafra, It’s Rising Sun” – Chiwetalu Agu Tells Soldiers [Video]

Chiwetalu Agu was seen trying to prove to the Nigerian army that the cloth he was wearing has nothing to do with Biafra.

Chiwetalu Agu has made his case before the Nigerian Army after he was arrested for wearing a Biafra regalia.

Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu has justified his choice of clothing after he was arrested by the Nigerian Army for wearing an outfit with Biafran color in Onitsha, Anambra State.

KanyiDaily had published a video showing the moment Chiwetalu Agu was seen around Upper Iweka Bridge donning a Biafran outfit and walking near a green bus when two armed soldiers wrestle him to the ground and drag him.

It was gathered that the 65-year-old actor was in Onitsha on a charity mission where he regularly gifts the less privileged with food items when he was arrested and assaulted by soldiers.

Residents who witnessed the incident had also confirmed that the army publicly manhandled Chiwetalu Agu, searched his vehicle, and fired shots to scare off the crowd that gathered.

Chiwetalu Agu Make His Case Before Nigerian Army

In a viral video, Chiwetalu Agu denied campaigning for Biafra, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

The 65-year-old actor, who was seen seated on the floor, said that the colorful outfit that he wore represents the “rising sun” and it’s a  is a civil dress.

Chiwetalu Agu noted that while he was sharing ten thousand naira worth of bread to the hungry, nobody was demonstrating, or carrying placards to promote the cause of IPOB or ESN.

Pointing to his outfit, the actor said: “I can wear this,” he said pointing to his outfit. This is rising sun, not Biafran, not Eastern Security Network, Do you understand?

“With my education, I know areas to go and areas not to go. It’s better for you to be videoing all this. Let’s listen to the facts and know how to react to the facts. This is a civil dress!

“I was buying bread, ten thousand naira worth of bread! And sharing it one by one, no campaign, no nothing, when they came, nobody was doing demonstration or carrying placard. People who were hungry, I was giving them bread. Is it wrong to feed people?”

This is coming after the Nigerian Army revealed that Chiwetalu Agu was arrested for inciting members of the public and soliciting support for the IPOB.
