It was gathered that the 65-year-old actor was in Onitsha on a charity mission where he regularly gifts the less privileged with food items when he was arrested and assaulted by soldiers.

In a viral video, Chiwetalu Agu denied campaigning for Biafra, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

The 65-year-old actor, who was seen seated on the floor, said that the colorful outfit that he wore represents the “rising sun” and it’s a  is a civil dress.

Chiwetalu Agu noted that while he was sharing ten thousand naira worth of bread to the hungry, nobody was demonstrating, or carrying placards to promote the cause of IPOB or ESN.

“My Attire Is Not IPOB, ESN Or Biafra, It’s Rising Sun”

Pointing to his outfit, the actor said: “I can wear this,” he said pointing to his outfit. This is rising sun, not Biafran, not Eastern Security Network, Do you understand?

“With my education, I know areas to go and areas not to go. It’s better for you to be videoing all this. Let’s listen to the facts and know how to react to the facts. This is a civil dress!

“I was buying bread, ten thousand naira worth of bread! And sharing it one by one, no campaign, no nothing, when they came, nobody was doing demonstration or carrying placard. People who were hungry, I was giving them bread. Is it wrong to feed people?”

This is coming after the Nigerian Army revealed that Chiwetalu Agu was arrested for inciting members of the public and soliciting support for the IPOB.
