Students from various universities in Ondo State took to the streets to express their displeasure due to the prolonged strike instituted by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
According to reports, the students blocked Ilesha/Akure while demanding for necessary actions to be taken so they can return to their distinct classrooms.
Students from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, and the Olusegun Agagu University of Technology, Okitipupa are said to have led the protest.
The students used barricades to block the highway in a bid to hamper free movement of vehicles.
KanyiDaily recalls that ASUU is considering suspending its strike after it received an appeal from a religious body.
