The Lagos Police Command has disclosed that under the new total ban of motorcycles (Okada) expected to take effect from 1st June, both riders and passengers will be arrested and prosecuted.
The Command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known to the public on Saturday evening, May 21 via his official Twitter account where he stated that ignorance will never be an excuse for violating the laid down rule.
In his words:
“Under the new total ban of motorcycles in six local government areas of Lagos State, passengers and riders alike will be arrested and prosecuted. The passenger is an accomplice. Ignorance will not be an excuse!”
