Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has reacted to the #ShettimaChallenge initiated to mock former Borno State Governor and vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Kashim Shetimma.
Shettima, had on Monday, represented his principal, the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu at the annual NBA conference at the Eko Atlantic City from August 22 to 26.
The former Borno governor was dressed in a black suit and red tie, accompanied by a pair of gym sneakers which has continued to generate mixed reactions on social media.
While some users on social media faulted the senator’s fashion sense, saying that he should not have worn the attire to an official outing such as the NBA conference, few others defended him.
Yul Edochie Blasts Nigerians Over #ShettimaChallenge
Taking to his official twitter handle on Tuesday morning, Edochie slammed Nigerians, over he calls “misplaced priorities.”
According to him, Nigerians will never trend important issues but only “frivolities.”
He said nobody cares about Shettima’s dressing, adding that if the next president of Nigeria can fix the country and make it work, the leader can even wear boxers and singlet to work.
“Nigerians & misplaced priorities,” he tweeted.
“They’ll never trend important issues, only frivolities. Who cares about Shettima’s dressing? If the next President of Nigeria can fix the country, secure it and make Nigeria work. He can be wearing only boxers and singlet to work. Who cares?.”
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily had reported that Minister State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo and Reno Omokri have also joined the #ShettimaChallenge.
Keyamo who was recently appointed into the Tinubu campaign council, particularly donned a similar outfit to justify Shettima’s fashion sense.
