2023: Nigerians Should Be Allowed To Use The Cyberspace To Express Their Choices Without Being Bullied – Okowa

Delta State Governor cum vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ifeanyi Okowa has lamented that there is so much bullying in the cyberspace ahead of the 2023 general election.

Okowa Speaks On Cyberbullying Ahead Of 2023 General Election

He said Nigerians should be allowed to use the cyberspace to express their choices without being bullied.

The governor noted that it is imperative for citizens not to act on emotions, but be guided by knowledge.

Okowa stated this on Tuesday at the northern Christian youth assembly summit in Abuja.

The summit had as its theme “Unifying Nigeria: The Role of Northern Christian Youths and Women”.

He said, “We are beginning to see bullying in the cyberspace of our country, I think that everybody should have space, time, to be able to think, make comments without being bullied.”

Speaking further, Okowa said youths need to be prepared for the future by participating actively in the present.

“The real truth is, our youths, particularly youth leaders, must be in position to have a clear understanding of things so that they are able to guide others aright,” he said.

“This is because if you have a leadership that is not able to provide that true leadership of guiding people aright and people begin to think in the wrong way, then you create further problems rather than finding solutions and we all go the wrong path.”

He called on Nigerians not to practise politics of religion, but to unite to elect leaders that would build a Nigeria where things would work.

In other news, Kanyi Daily had reported that Okowa tackled the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, saying he lacks “deep” experience to lead Nigeria.
