Celebrity car dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD Autos, has broken taken to social media to mourn the death of his wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.
KanyiDaily had reported how Bimbo recently died in a hospital after getting into a scuffle with her husband and setting herself ablaze at their mansion in Megamound Estate, Lekki, Lagos.
It was gathered that Bimbo set herself ablaze after being assaulted by her husband while confronting him over the constant beatings she receives from him since their marriage.
IVD escaped with minor injuries while Bimbo suffered severe burns and was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of a Lagos hospital where she received treatment for some days before she gave up the ghost yesterday morning.
Following her death on Saturday, Bimbo’s sister, Mama Jazz accused the car dealer of killing his wife after suffering domestic violence for 22 years of their marriage.
Mama Jazz, who broke down in tears while mourning her sister, claimed that IVD pushed Bimbo into the fire, watched her burn, and also made a video of her burning in the fire.
But IVD denied the allegations in a series of posts shared on his Instagram page, where he also narrated his own side of the story with evidence.
He also shared videos of his deceased wife damaging his cars and properties, alleging that she was fond of unleashing violence anytime they quarreled.
Many people who believed IVD should be mourning his wife’s death saw the post as insensitive and disrespectful to the dead and dragged him to filth.
Following the backlash, a check on IVD’s Instagram page shows he has now taken down the posts and changed his display photo to a family photo with his wife and children.
KanyiDaily recalls that Bimbo’s brother, Oyindamola Martins has given details of how IVD pushed his sister into the fire which she set to burn their matrimonial home.
Martins also said his family members believe Bimbo and IVD had a blood covenant because she kept going back to him even with all that was going on in their toxic marriage.
