Dabiri-Erewa Fights With Man Who Slammed Her Over Attack On Nigerian Students In India

The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa has got into a verbal fight with a young man who slammed her over the recent attack on Nigerian students in an Indian university.

On Monday, October 17, reports emerged on social media that some Indian students with weapons are chasing their Nigerian counterparts at GD Goenka University in Gurugam.

Dabiri-Erewa, who reacted to the report via her Twitter page, explained that the incident happened on Saturday, October 15, following a football match between African and Indian students.

She wrote, “This happened Sat (Saturday) as a result of a fracas, during a football match between African and Indian students.

“The Nigerian Mission immediately took custody of 86 Nigerian students, invited the representatives of the Indian government, and got their commitment to ensuring the safety of the students who then returned back to campus on Sunday.”

The NIDCOM Boss, called for calm, saying normalcy has been restored.

As netizens continue to discuss the attack on Nigerian students in India, a Twitter user who felt her response was unsatisfactory, went under her tweet to insult her, describing her as a ‘mumu woman’.

The tweep wrote: “She should go to Indonesia and see how Nigerians are treated. Mumu woman supporting a failed government. She’s equally part of the failure. Eye service!”

Reacting to the insult, Abike-Dabiri fired back, describing the man as ‘Ode’, while thanking the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for saving his likes from death sentence.

She wrote: “Ode! You go to Indonesia, carry drugs, do cultism and come begging to be rescued from death sentence . Thank God for @ndlea_nigeria now saving people like you from death row.”

Abike-Dabiri’s reaction has sparked outrage on Twitter, as many accused her of stereotyping the Nigerians living in Indonesia because of a personal insult, others blamed the man for insulting Abike-Dabiri in the first instance.

KanyiDaily recalls that Abike Dabiri-Erewa had recently revealed why some Nigerians are denied entry into Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
