The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the inauguration of Senator Ademola Adeleke as the Governor of Osun State.
Adeleke was sworn in on Sunday as the next governor of the state in a ceremony attended by Atiku, his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, the party’s national chairman, and some PDP governors and members.
Taking to his Twitter handle on Sunday afternoon, Atiku said the inauguration of Adeleke is much more than a victory for the people of Osun state.
According to him, the “Imole” which means light in Yoruba, that starts to shine from Osun today is a manifestation of the country’s recovery from the darkness of bad governance and poor leadership.
He wrote, “The inauguration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, @AAdeleke_01, is much more than a victory for the good people of Osun State.
“The Imole that starts to shine from Osun today is a manifestation of the country’s recovery from the darkness of bad governance and poor leadership.”
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that the outgoing governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola on Saturday night, said he looks forward to continuing governing the state again, as he anticipated victory from the court.
Oyetola in a farewell message said he would be stepping aside as a law-abiding citizen, adding that the outcome of the Osun governorship election that produced Ademola Adeleke was still being challenged in court.
