Garba Shehu made the assertion when he was featured in an Arise Television News interview.
According to Garba Shehu, despite the irregularities observed in the conduct of the February 25 election, it remained the most improved in Nigeria’s history.
Reports say Shehu in a statement he signed on Monday, said the current administration had laid the groundwork for credible elections in the country.
The president’s media aide was, however, quick to add that all that is left is for INEC to manage the collation of results.
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that INEC declared former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu as the winner of the keenly contested presidential election.
There has, however, been an outcry by his fellow contestants and Nigerians alleging massive rigging and other forms of electoral malpractice at the polls.
