Matthew Urhoghide, the senator representing Edo South in the ninth Senate, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Urhoghide’s resignation is contained in a letter read by the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, who presided over the plenary on Wednesday.

The senator did not, however, disclose the party he defected to in the letter.
