KanyiDaily recalls that President Buhari travelled to the UK on May 3 to attend the coronation of King Charles which took place on May 6 was attended by leaders and dignitaries from across the world.
Buhari also took part in a summit for presidents and heads of government of Commonwealth countries which was held on May 5, and was expected to return to Nigeria this week.
But in a statement on Tuesday night, the Media Adviser to the President, Femi Adesina said the president will extend his stay in London at the request of his Dentist, who has started attending to him and requires to see him in another five days for a procedure.
Buhari is expected to hand over power to the president-elect Bola Tinubu on May 29.
The statement reads, “PRESIDENT BUHARI TO STAY ADDITIONAL WEEK IN LONDON
“President Muhammadu Buhari will be in London, United Kingdom, for an additional week, at the behest of his Dentist, who has started attending to him.
“The Specialist requires to see the President in another five days for a procedure already commenced.
“President Buhari joined other world leaders to attend the coronation of King Charles lll on May 6, 2023.”
