Tina Turner’s funeral arrangements have been confirmed following her death on Tuesday, May 23, at the age of 83.
Official arrangements for the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s burial have not yet been released, but a spokeswoman for the family confirmed that only the star’s closest friends and family will attend the modest service.
‘A private funeral ceremony will be held for intimate friends and family,’ the spokesman revealed.
Turner died of natural causes at home in Switzerland after battling intestinal cancer, four decades of high blood pressure, and getting a kidney transplant, according to the cause of death.
Turner’s team later verified that the singer died naturally.
They announced her death earlier this week, on May 24, adding, ‘With her, the world loses a music classic and role model.’
She had previously battled colon cancer and excessive blood pressure for more than four decades.
Since the news of Tuner’s death surfaced, fans have gathered outside the star’s lakeside home to pay their respects to the music great who had lived in Switzerland for nearly three decades.
