EFCC Arrests School Owner, 17 Of His ‘Yahoo Boys’ Whom He Trains In Internet Fraud

Eighteen suspected internet fraudsters better known as “Yahoo Boys” were on Monday, May 1, arrested by operatives of the Enugu zonal command of the Economic and Financial Crimes (EFCC).

They were arrested at different locations within Enugu state.

This was disclosed in a short statement issued on Tuesday night by the Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren.

Uwujaren said the suspects include one Chigozie Philips, founder of Holy Family School Abakpa, Enugu, where he allegedly trains prospective cybercriminals.

“Thirteen of his proteges who were arrested in the sting operation are Kingsley Okorie, Henry Chidiebere, Elochukwu Chukwuemeka Micheal, Nelson Nnaji, Joacin Kelvin, Kelechi Ibe, Chinonso James, Udeh Isaiah, and Micheal Chukwuemeka.

“Others include Ifeanyi Ozor Bright, Etuma John, Okafor Chukwuemeka, Raymond Chinaza, Desmond James, Ozoma Chinonso Anthony, Uchenna Aka, and Ozor Celestine.”

According to the statement, items recovered from the suspects include 20 mobile phones and 2 laptops.

It noted that the suspects have made useful statements and will be charged in court as soon as the investigation is concluded.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has dismissed the rumours of ethnic bias during the evacuation of Nigerians stranded in Sudan.

NIDCOM debunked the rumours in a statement issued by its Spokesman, Abdur-Rahman Balogun on Tuesday.
