KanyiDaily recalls that during a recent interview with Brut Afrique, Davido claimed that he and Wizkid were the first young Nigerian artists to achieve stardom.
Davido, however, said he was excited to see “new cats” like Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun, and Asake now making remarkable strides in the music industry.
The statement made by Davido has generated diverse reactions on social media, with some fans of Burna Boy expressing their disagreement, as they believe the Grammy-winning artist should not be compared to emerging musicians.
Reacting on her Instagram story, Nissi Ogulu clapped back at Davido by sharing a video from Burna Boy’s recent sold-out concert in London. She sarcastically referred to her brother as the “new cat” and emphasized his hard work in the industry.”
In another post, Burna Boy’s sister shared a viral video of Rivers State’s former governor, Nyesom Wike shading his detractors with the words: “Our business is not to make them happy, our business is to make their High blood pressure go higher.”
The caption of the video read: “As e dey sweet us e dey pain dem.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Davido recently opened up about his long-time beef with Burna Boy, including their violent clash in a Ghanaian club.
