Libianca Beats Asake To Win “Best New International Act” At 2023 BET Awards [Video]

Cameroonian singer, Libianca has won the “Best New International Act” (Viewer’s Choice), at the 2023 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.

Libianca emerged victorious in the category, surpassing her Nigerian counterpart, Asake, to claim the coveted award. Other nominees included Flo and Raye from the UK, Camidoh from Ghana, Maureen and Werenoi from France, MC Ryan SP from Brazil, and Pabu Cooper from South Africa.

This historic nomination marks a significant milestone for Libianca, as she becomes the first-ever Cameroonian artist to receive such recognition at the prestigious BET Awards.

The 23rd BET Awards, held on Sunday night, June 25, celebrated outstanding accomplishments in the realms of entertainment, paying tribute to achievements in music, sports, television, and movies.

Libianca’s continual trailblazing efforts have propelled her to break new boundaries and set records. Her hit single, “People,” has attained Platinum certification in countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Switzerland. Additionally, it has achieved Gold status in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Denmark.

With each accomplishment, Libianca solidifies her position as a rising star, leaving an indelible mark on the global music scene and inspiring aspiring artists in Cameroon and beyond.
