EPL: Arsenal vs Man Utd – A preview

Arsenal will face their toughest test of the season when they host Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s men could utilize this game to demonstrate to the rest of the EPL teams how prepared they are this season.

The Gunners should be able to overcome Manchester United this weekend and make a strong statement in the EPL title battle.

Their most recent game ended in a dismal draw against Fulham, leaving the Gunners with problems to answer.

However, Mikel Arteta’s team’s concerns are not as severe as those of their weekend opponents.

United began the season in an unusual fashion, with unimpressive performances against Wolves and Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford, which they won, and a loss at Tottenham.

Both teams’ fans will consider this weekend’s match as a critical early-season litmus test of their clubs’ potential.

News from the team:

Eddie Nketiah, Arsenal’s second-choice frontman, will play despite concerns over a knee injury. Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus could also return to the starting lineup.

However, Arsenal fans can not expect to see Jurrien Timber or Mohamed Elneny, who are both injured.

Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia have all been ruled out for Manchester United.

Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo, and Amad Diallo are also out.

However, during his pre-match press conference on Friday, Erik ten Hag stated that new striker Rasmus Hojlund is ready to play.

Head-to-head competition (h2h):

Manchester United hasn’t defeated Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in nearly six years.

And the home team has won the last four meetings between Arsenal and Manchester United. There are at least three goals.

Both teams met 238 times under various managers. And 50 of those encounters resulted in a tie.

Arsenal has 87 victories over Manchester United, while the Red Devils have 101 victories.
