Why I retired at age 32 – Ex-Chelsea, Real Madrid winger, Hazard

Eden Hazard, a former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger, has explained why he quit from professional football.

Hazard, 32, has declared his retirement from sport.

After leaving Real Madrid in the summer, the Belgian ended his 15-year career a few days ago.

Hazard had struggled with injuries during his time at Real Madrid.

However, he was a surprise for Chelsea from 2012 to 2019, scoring 110 goals and registering 92 assists in 352 games in all competitions.

With Chelsea, Hazard also won two Premier League crowns, two Europa Leagues, the FA Cup, and the League Cup.

However, he has stated that he no longer wanted to play football, which led to his decision to retire.

“I always said I’d stop playing when I no longer had fun on the pitch.” I didn’t want to go anywhere and play for money.

“I wasn’t enjoying training any longer… and I stopped playing. “The decision was straightforward,” Hazard told French publication L’Avenir (via EuroFoot).
