APC, NNPP Sign Peace Accord with Kano Police in Pursuit of Harmony, Security

To foster unity and ensure a secure environment in Kano State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) have entered into a peace agreement with the Kano State Police Force.

The meeting, held at the Bompai headquarters, signifies the second peace accord ahead of the imminent gubernatorial race judgment, following a previous agreement preceding the Appeal Court decision

As the state awaits the Supreme Court’s ruling on the gubernatorial race, these cooperative initiatives highlight a united resolve to uphold peace and security in Kano State.

Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Hussain Gumel expressed gratitude to both prominent political parties for collaborating to ensure stability.

As the New Year and Christmas festivities draw near, CP Gumel emphasized the importance of sustained dialogue with political and security stakeholders.

The discussions also touched upon the ongoing Kano State Governorship election case, presently before the Supreme Court.

Both parties are committed to preserving peace and security, safeguarding the lives and property of the community

Gumel reassured the readiness of the police force and other security agencies to maintain overall security in Kano State. He warned groups attempting to disrupt peace, making it clear that the army would not tolerate such actions

The meeting, with attendance from diverse security forces, local government leaders, and representatives of APC and NNPP, emphasized a shared dedication to stability.

Kanyi Daily recalls that police had banned all street protests in the state.
