Kanyidaily recalls that the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Dr Emeka Rollas, said in a recent interview with newsmen that Mr Ibu had another limb amputation and is barely able to speak.
In a Saturday Instagram post, the actor’s family confirmed that the second amputation was performed on the same limb that had previously been removed since “the first amputation didn’t completely correct his health predicament.”
Mr Ibu is not diabetic, according to his family, but he “had constant clotting of the blood in his leg [diseased blood vessels] and other health challenges posing a risk to his life, thus the need for the amputation.”
The actor’s family claimed that he has not been sent abroad for advanced treatment because physicians have deemed him “not fit to fly.”
The iconic comedic star’s family, on the other hand, said he was recovering, imploring his “friends, colleagues, fans, and Nigerians at large to keep him in their prayers and peddle down on unconfirmed reports concerning our dad’s health.”
