Terry G announced this in a video statement posted to his Instagram page on Saturday, explaining that he is leaving music because his profession is no longer thriving.
He thanked his followers for their support over the years, emphasising that his decision could pain them but was in his best interests.
He stated, “A huge thank you to my supporters for sticking with me all these years. I sincerely thank you all. It’s been a fantastic year after another. Thank you all for your love.
“But I’m going to make a major announcement. I realise it will hurt a lot of people, but I have personal reasons. I’m quitting music. I am done. And I sincerely appreciate you all showing me so much love.”
Kanyidaily recalls that Terry G celebrated 100 days of ‘No Smoking’ as a sign of life change.
