Three Die in One-Way Accident on Lagos-Badagry Expressway

A motorcyclist riding on ‘one-way’, and his two passengers met a tragic end as they were fatally crushed to death on the the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Lagos, on Saturday

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, recently arrested some Okada riders, including a soldier, who were riding against the flow of traffic along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

The occurrence prompted varied reactions from the public.
Olalekan Bakare-Oki, the General Manager of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), issued a warning to truck drivers about overspeeding.

At the same time, he appealed to motorcycle operators to cease navigating one-way routes and restricted areas across the state

The occurrence, situated at Barracks Bus-Stop along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway in Lagos, involved LASTMA operatives retrieving lifeless bodies trapped beneath an empty long ‘Man-Diesel’ truck.

Mr. Taofiq Adebayo, the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department at LASTMA, verified that the individuals who lost their lives were passengers on a motorcycle navigating in the wrong direction on a ‘one-way’ route.

According to Adebayo, “While the two motorcycle passengers died instantly, the rider later died at a hospital around Satellite Town

“Preliminary investigations revealed that a truck driver while on a top speed lost control as a result of a rear busted tyre and rammed into a motorcycle plying one-way by Barracks Bus-Stop inward Iyana-Iba along Lagos-Badagry Expressway.”

Kanyi Daily recalls that a tenant, Ikem Chika Emmanuel had reportedly stabbed his neighbor, Philip Fiama, to death, alleging that he was involved in a secret affair with his wife.
