A recently surfaced video from the church’s 2021 Annual Convention showcased Pastor Adeboye parying that Christians from other churches would bow to his congregants.
In the prayer, Pastor Adeboye declared, “I decree by the name greater than every other name, Christians from all other denominations will bow before you.”
This statement triggered a range of responses on social media, with some users calling for the preacher’s retirement.
Reacting in the comment section of a blog post discussing the controversial prayer, Emeka Amakaeze expressed his dismay.
He lamented that, amidst the prevailing hardships in the country, the focus of Christians in the video seemed to be on fervently shouting amens to Pastor Adeboye’s prayer about other Christians bowing before them.
The actor emphasized pressing issues such as hunger, kidnappings, and terrorist activities, suggesting that these urgent concerns deserved more attention and action.
He wrote, “Upon all the hardship in Naija, Christians are shouting thunderous Amen to other Christians bowing before them. Hunger, kidnappers, and terrorists can finish you as long as other Christians bow before you. O dị mma.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Pastor Enoch Adeboye had previously faced criticim after praying for his congregation, that by January 2025, their colleagues would approach them for refreshments and food.
