Actor Junior Pope Odonwodo Confirmed Dead, Hours After Returning To Life [Video]

Nollywood actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo, also known as Jnr Pope, has been confirmed dead after he was revived to life.

It was earlier reported that the 39-year-old actor died in a boat accident on Wednesday afternoon while returning from a film production.

According to reports, the actor and three of his colleagues were returning from a movie shoot in a boat when they encountered an accident and fell into the Anam River in Anambra state.

However, subsequent reports brought a glimmer of hope as it was revealed that Junior Pope had been resuscitated and rushed to the hospital for further treatment.

Emeka Rollas, President of the Actor Guild of Nigeria (AGN), confirmed this miraculous turn of events on social media, emphasizing the power of faith and expressing gratitude for Junior Pope’s survival.

Taking to his Instagram page, Rollas wrote: “What God cannot do does not exist. Junior Pope is alive, he is taking treatment in the hospital”.

Tragically, despite initial signs of recovery, the situation took a devastating turn as Emeka Rollas later confirmed to Channels Television that Junior Pope had, in fact, passed away.

The AGN president revealed that the actor’s body has been deposited at the morgue, while the remains of a crew member were recovered.

He noted that the bodies of three other crew members were yet to be recovered as they were five in the boat which capsized after colliding with another boat around the River Niger area in Anambra State.

Junior Pope’s sudden demise has left a void in the hearts of his family, including his wife and three children, as well as his colleagues and fans.

Tributes and messages of condolence have flooded social media platforms, as the Nollywood community mourns the loss of one of its own.
