In a recent interview on ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Yvonne Jegede had said that Yul Edochie did nothing wrong by marrying a second wife, Judy Austin.
The actress, who spoke about the pains and trials she endured in her former marriage, noted that many of Yul’s critics come from polygamous families.
She also questioned why people criticized Yul’s second marriage while admiring Regina Daniels’ marriage.
Yvonne Jegede’s comment sparked backlash on social media, with many accusing her of being insensitive to May Edochie’s situation.
Reacting to the criticism, Yvonne apologized to her fans and May, admitting that she didn’t express herself well and recognizing May’s struggles.
In his response, Emeka Ugwuonye revealed that Yul Edochie doesn’t pay child support or his children’s school fees, leaving May to take care of their three children.
May Edochie’s lawyer claimed Yul told his daughter to rely on her mother for financial support because she earns more. He questioned why Yul would choose polygamy if he couldn’t support all his children.
Emeka said, “May is taking care of all the children; she is paying their school fees. Yul isn’t supporting his children as we speak.
“Yul told his daughter that her mother is making more money than him. You are going into polygamy; you can’t take care of all your children. So please don’t compare the two.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Yvonne Jegede also revealed that she left her marriage because she was contributing more financially than her ex-husband, Olakunle ‘Abounce’ Fawole.
