Tinubu will travel to China to represent ECOWAS, as he currently serves as the chairman of the West African regional bloc.
At the summit, Tinubu will discuss regional peace and security, according to presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale.
Ngelale also noted that the September visit is expected to bring significant economic benefits to Nigeria.
The meeting comes at a time when a Chinese company, Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Limited, has been seizing Nigerian assets.
Diplomatic efforts are seen as crucial to resolving this conflict.
Usman Sarki, a former Nigerian diplomat, has urged Tinubu to address the issue with President Xi.
KanyiDaily recalls that a French court recently ruled in favor of the Chinese firm, allowing it to seize three Nigerian presidential jets as part of a long-standing legal dispute involving the Ogun State government.
