Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy And Olamide Don’t Praise God In Their Songs – Portable [Video]

Nigerian singer Portable has spoken about the kind of music released by some of the country’s biggest Afrobeats stars.

The musician criticised Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and Olamide, saying their songs focus mainly on women instead of delivering messages that encourage people or give praise to God.

Portable said, “I noticed that Wizkid, Davido, Burna boy and Olamide don’t praise God in their song. They only sing about ladies. Their songs have no motivation.”

His comments quickly spread across social media, where many users have been debating whether musicians should use their music to inspire listeners or simply entertain them.

The discussion has also renewed arguments about the influence artists have on society and whether they have a responsibility to include positive or religious messages in their songs.
