Taking to his Instagram page, Ayo Makun said he’s fine with young actors imitating his style on and off set, but he takes issue with Deyemi Okanlawon copying his specific look.
The comic actor advised Deyemi to copy his style more responsibly if he’s going to do so.
He wrote, “I have no issues with young actors trying to copy why swagger on and off the set of The Waiter. BUT @deyemitheactor, if you want to copy your MENTOR, please learn how to copy responsibly The Waiter Movie”.
In his response, Deyemi pointed out that even President Bola Tinubu copied from the late Obafemi Awolowo, so he feels he should be allowed to follow his own mentor’s example.
He wrote, “Ahan, this one no enter na. Even Tinubu copy Awolowo. If I no copy my ancestral mentor who I wan copy?”.
KanyiDaily recalls that Deyemi Okanlawo opened up about the pivotal role his friend, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, played in inspiring and guiding his fitness journey.
