I Grew Up Poor But Never Dated Politicians Or Engaged In Prostitution – Ashmusy [Video]

Social media influencer, Amarchi Amusi, popularly known as Ashmusy, has shared the struggles of her childhood and the hardships her family faced.

In an interview on Chude Jideonwo’s podcast, Ashmusy discussed her difficult upbringing and the backlash she has faced on social media.

She also addressed rumors about her personal life, particularly the one suggesting she was dating a politician, Senator Dino Melaye.

Ashmusy firmly denied this, saying, “I totally can’t relate to dating a politician or doing runs. There are things I’ve never done.”

Ashmusy, who was criticized by social media activist Verydarkman, revealed that she grew up in a very poor family.

She recalled living in a small room with 20 people, describing how they faced constant struggles.

The content creator, who later bought a car for her mother, shared how loan sharks would regularly show up at their home and shop to take their belongings.

She explained that her mother couldn’t repay the loans she had taken, leading to harassment from lenders.

Reflecting on her time in school, Ashmusy noted that she had only N5000 for an entire semester because her mother couldn’t afford to give her more.

She praised her mother for her sacrifices, saying, “All the microfinance banks would come in front of our shop and house to collect one thing or the other because she always found a way to pay up the loans.”
