Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s Former ADC, Moses Jitoboh Is Dead

Moses Jitoboh, a retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police and former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away.

Moses Jitoboh died on Friday at the age of 54 after a brief illness, according to a reliable source.

Yes, your information is correct. I can confirm that he (Moses Jitoboh) is dead. I just got off the phone with a community chief.,” the source told Punch.

Efforts are reportedly underway to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.

Jitoboh served as Jonathan’s ADC during his tenure as Bayelsa State governor and continued in that role when Jonathan became Vice President and later President.

After Jonathan’s loss in the 2015 presidential election, Jitoboh resumed his duties in the Nigeria Police Force.

At one point, he was considered a candidate for the position of Inspector General of Police but did not secure the appointment.

The Zone 16 Police Command has extended condolences to Jitoboh’s family and the people of Bayelsa State.

A statement issued on Saturday by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Emonena Gunn, conveyed the sympathies of the Assistant Inspector General of Police for Zone 16, Adebola Hamzat.

His passing was described as a great loss to his family, Bayelsa State, the Nigeria Police Force, and the nation.

The statement said the AIG Zone 16, Adebola Hamzat, “expresses condolence to the immediate family and the good people of Bayelsa state over the death of Bayelsa Born DIG Moses Ambakina Jitoboh, mni.”

The statement added, “He was enlisted into the Police Force on the 10th of June 1994 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.

“His contributions to the Nigeria Police Force, dedication to service and integrity can never be forgotten, as before his retirement in 2023, he was DIG in charge of the Department of Research and Planning, and also served as DIG Department of Information & Communications Technology (ICT), Force Headquarters.

“The passing of DIG Moses Ambakina Jitoboh is a great loss, not only to the immediate family but to the entire Bayelsa State, Nigeria Police Force and the nation at large.

“It is our prayer that God will give the immediate family the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss of your beloved son.

“On behalf of the entire officers and men of the zone, please accept the heartfelt condolences of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 16 Command.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Alhaji Muyideen Bello, a respected Islamic scholar and preacher, also passed away at the age of 84.
