In a video shared on Instagram, Alieke criticized the police for ignoring the court order and shared the difficulties he’s faced in trying to secure his client’s freedom.

He also pointed out the lack of public support, noting that many Nigerians believe Speed Darlington deserves his predicament due to his history of attacking others’ reputations.

Yesterday makes it 31 days since he has been in detention. People are saying stop the emotional blackmail; why don’t you advise your client. Let’s move on from that because those things are nonsense; it could be you,” Alieke said.

The lawyer also expressed disappointment over the lack of help from influential figures, accusing Burna Boy of bribing the police to keep the rapper detained despite the court order.

I’ve exhausted my connections; no one wants to help Speed Darlington. The first time he was arrested, Burna Boy showed up with his team and handed out bundles of cash to the police officers,” he shared.

The ongoing detention raises serious concerns about the enforcement of court rulings and the challenges faced in achieving justice.
