According to Daily Trust, the accident occurred on Monday, the same day the commissioner paid a condolence visit to CSP A.A. Sambo, Divisional Police Officer of Ushafa Division, who had also lost his son.
On behalf of the FCT Police Command, CP Disu offered prayers for the peaceful rest of the deceased and strength for the family to endure this painful loss.
While the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, has yet to release an official statement, sources revealed that the late Tunde, whose given name was Adam, was adopted by Disu at the age of two.
Sources disclosed that the car veered into a ditch, overturned, and caught fire, leading to the devastating loss.
A source said, “Adam was not his (Tunji Disu’s) biological son but he raised him since he was two years old.
“Adam was 33 years old and had just completed his NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) programme last year.”
“He died in a ghastly auto accident while drive alone in BMW car. The car caught fire as it rolled over after entering a ditch,” another source said.
