Police Arrest Mohbad’s Brother Adura And Friend Outside Lagos Court

Adura Aloba, the younger brother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, was arrested on Wednesday by operatives of the Nigeria Police at the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos State.

Mohbad’s brother was taken into custody alongside his friend, Ibrahim Koleosho, also known as King White, shortly after attending a legal proceeding related to a phone transaction with one Damola Ayinde.

Reports indicate that tensions have been high between Mohbad’s family and actor Yomi Fabiyi, who previously accused Adura of attempting to extort ₦3 million in Bitcoin by claiming to have video evidence related to Mohbad’s death.

The accusation stemmed from an Instagram chat, which Adura denied, stating that the messages came from Ayinde, the person who purchased his phone.

A forensic investigation was conducted, and the case remains under court review.

Following the arrest, Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, appeared in a viral video, tearfully pleading for help to locate her son.

Abosede alleged that Yomi Fabiyi and another person identified as Sam Jojo, were behind Adura’s detention.

Speaking in Yoruba, she expressed fears for her son’s safety, insisting that he was innocent and unwell.

She said, “Please help me, Nigerians. Yomi Fabiyi and Sam Jojo have taken my son. I don’t know where they are taking him to. He asked them to take my son away.

“My son did nothing to them. They must not lay a hand on him, he is sick. Demola, you’ve put me in trouble. Mohbad’s spirit will fight you.”

In December, Adura Aloba had demanded a public apology from Fabiyi and Ayinde, accusing them of hacking his TikTok account to damage his reputation.

He also filed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against them for defamation, tampering with evidence, and making fraudulent claims against him.

A family member, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed that Koleosho was arrested immediately after the court proceedings.

The source suggested that an earlier argument between Koleosho and Fabiyi over the phone issue might have played a role in the arrest.

The family has since been unable to determine Adura’s whereabouts.

We don’t know the whereabouts of Adura but I can confirm that his friend, Koleosho, was arrested after the court proceedings today.

“Everything just happened suddenly. We learnt there has been some exchange of words between Koleosho and Fabiyi over the issue relating to the phone and this may have led to the arrest.

“We don’t know where the security men came from but we have been trying to locate their whereabouts.” the family source disclosed.

A police source disclosed that the arrests were carried out by operatives from the Zone 2 Police Command in Onikan, Lagos.

Yes, they were arrested by the police operatives from Zone 2, Onikan, not men of the Lagos State Command,” he said.

However, when pressed for details, the source directed inquiries to the zonal police spokesperson, Ayuba Umma, who was unavailable for comment at the time of this report.

Fabiyi has yet to respond to calls or messages regarding the incident.

KanyiDaily recalls that Mohbad’s brother, Adura Aloba had denied Yomi Fabiyi’s claims that he demanded ₦3 million from him in exchange for an incriminating video of his late brother fighting his wife Wunmi.
