FG Declares Friday And Monday As Public Holidays For Easter Celebration

The Federal Government has announced that Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, will be public holidays in celebration of Good Friday and Easter Monday.

This was revealed in a statement released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Interior, signed by the permanent secretary, Magdalene Ajani.

Speaking on behalf of the government, Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo congratulated Christians across the country as they prepare to mark Easter.

He encouraged everyone to reflect on the message of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and love, which Easter represents.

The minister also urged Nigerians to use the break to pray for peace, unity, and stability in the country.

He reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on national growth and progress.

Tunji-Ojo further encouraged citizens to show kindness and generosity to one another during the holiday.

He wished Christians a joyful Easter and sent warm greetings to all Nigerians for the holiday period.
