AbdulRauf Adeniji was kidnapped along with his wife and brother on January 26.
His wife was shot dead during the abduction when she couldn’t keep up with the kidnappers.
Despite reportedly receiving a ransom of about N90 million, the kidnappers still killed Adeniji.
Following the devastating news, APC’s Deputy Director of Administration, Ubagha Abel, announced that the party’s national secretariat would shut down all operations until Monday, April 14, 2025, to observe a period of mourning.
“The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National secretariat from all party/work activities with immediate effect till Monday 14th April 2025.
”This decision was made after he had received the news of the sad demise of the Director of Administration, the Late Hon. AbdulRauf Adekunle Adeniji,” Abel stated.
He also urged staff to use this time for reflection and to pray for the late director’s family and loved ones.
During the mourning period, all flags at the secretariat will be flown at half-mast, and a condolence register will be opened in Adeniji’s honour.
The APC described the loss as deeply painful and asked for support and prayers for the grieving family.
KanyiDaily had also reported how unknown attackers killed APC chairmanship aspirant, Oluwatosin Onamade, in the Ijede area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
