The incident happened early Wednesday when the attackers broke into his home located within RCCG premises near Bristol Academy in the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) area of Karu.
According to security expert Zagazola Makama, the gunmen arrived around 1:30 a.m., fired several shots to scare residents, and took Pastor Faturoti Olaniyi away to an unknown location.
Witnesses said the area was thrown into panic as the attackers operated freely for several minutes, forcing people to flee their homes.
Security forces, including police, local vigilantes, and hunters, quickly launched a joint operation, blocking potential escape routes and combing the nearby hills and bushes in search of the kidnappers.
As of the time of filing this report, the pastor remains in captivity, and rescue efforts are still ongoing.
KanyiDaily recalls that gunmen recently attacked a commercial bus on Sunday evening in Benue, abducting several passengers.
