PDP Chieftain Abdullahi Kpotun And Son Killed By Suspected Kidnappers In Kwara

Suspected kidnappers have killed Alhaji Abdullahi Kpotun, a ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara North, along with his son.

It was gathered that the incident happened in Lile Village, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State on Tuesday night, June 24.

According to Leadership, the attackers struck while attempting to abduct the victims, but ended up killing both father and son during the incident.

Although the Kwara State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement, the PDP’s State Publicity Secretary, Shola Adewara, confirmed the killings.

“Yes, Alh Kpotun was killed by suspected gunmen. We are in mourning mood,” Adewara said

A political group, the Kwara Central Strategy Team (KCST), also reacted to the news with a condolence message, expressing grief over the loss.

“With heavy hearts, the Kwara Central Strategy Team (KCST) mourns the tragic killing of Kwara North PDP Ward Chairman in Patigi and his son by ruthless bandits. As a team built on service, sacrifice, and strategy, we stand in full solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Baruten, Kaiama, Edu, Moro, and Patigi.

“We pray for the souls of our fallen comrades. May their sacrifices not be in vain. We declare safety, divine guidance, and victory over fear. Kwara North shall rise again!” he said.

This comes a few days after Aondoakaa Yaiyol, a former PDP chairman in Tarka Local Government Area of Benue State, was recently shot dead by unknown gunmen.
