The victims included members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), local hunters, and community guards.
A disturbing 6-minute video shared online shows the captives dressed in red jumpsuits, kneeling as masked ISWAP fighters interrogate them one after the other.
Armed with rifles and knives, the militants accused the men of working with “infidels” and being traitors to their cause.
In the video, the terrorists then used knives to kill all seven captives, later throwing their bodies into a shallow pit.
A local government official from Magumeri, who spoke anonymously, confirmed the killings and said four of the victims were part of the CJTF and local hunting group.
“We were aware they had been abducted and were hoping for a rescue. Unfortunately, we woke up to this horrific news. We pray Allah forgives them and grants strength to their families,” the official said.
KanyiDaily also reported that a Superintendent of Immigration, simply identified as Suleiman was killed by gunmen suspected to be ISWAP membera in Niger State.
