Many presiding officers and election staff had still not left for their polling units during the ongoing Lagos LGA elections.
It was gathered that the delay was caused by a lack of enough vehicles to take LASIEC officials to their various locations.
One of the officials explained that a transport provider was instructed to supply a specific number of buses, which he claimed to have delivered. But clearly, the number wasn’t enough.
Some staff were seen scrambling to get on the few available buses, some even clinging to the sides, while others had no choice but to start walking.
“They told us it’s not far from here, so we can trek there,” LASIEC one official said.
