KanyiDaily recalls that Peter Obi and Nasir El-Rufai were among the opposition members who joined the new political coalition under the banner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC)..
Taking to his X page, Bashir shared a photo of Obi and his father at the Coalition meeting that held on Wednesday, July 2.
Bashir El-Rufai wrote, “He don dey mature,” hinting at his approval of the political alliance and Obi’s growth.
This sudden show of support caught the attention of many, especially one X user who questioned whether Bashir had dropped his past criticisms of Peter Obi.
In response, Bashir confirmed his new stance, saying he now genuinely supports the ex-LP presidential candidate.
The former governor’s son echoed the popular Northern political chant by saying, “Sai Peter Obi.”
He explained that just like other political influencers have shifted their views over time, he also has the right to change his perspective and support whoever he believes in.
KanyiDaily recalls that the Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party recently gave Peter Obi a 48-hour deadline to leave the party, following his recent involvement in a new political coalition.
