The Lagos state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab made the call in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter).
The incident came to light after a social media user shared a video showing the woman disposing of waste along the Abijo bus stop area.
The witness said he confronted her and asked her to pick up the refuse, but she allegedly refused, claiming that her father was an officer and that nothing could be done to her.
He wrote, ‘’@Olowajaja @tokunbo_wahab @Horlartunjee1 Today@Abijo bus stop , she came all the way from her house to dump refuse on the highway, after I confronted her to go and pick the refuse, she is claiming that her dad is an officer and that nothing will happen. We need to do something.”
Responding to the post, Commissioner Wahab urged the public to assist in locating the woman so appropriate action can be taken.
