This emergency alert, Public Alert No. 027/2025, warns women and healthcare providers about the dangers of falsified batches of the popular emergency contraceptive pill (Levonorgestrel 0.75mg)
According to NAFDAC, the counterfeit versions of Postinor-2 can be identified through the following errors on the packaging:
✅ The original Postinor-2 uses a clearer, larger font on the verification sticker and has correct spellings.
❌ Fake PIN verification sticker has a smaller font and misspells “Verify” as “Veify.”
❌ On the fake pack, “Distributed in Nigeria” is wrongly spelt as “Distnibuted in Nigeria.”
NAFDAC warns that counterfeit Postinor-2 poses serious health risks, including:
These risks arise from poor manufacturing practices, incorrect dosages, and the use of unsafe substances in falsified drugs.

Purchase Postinor-2 only from licensed pharmacies and verified healthcare providers.
