Former Oyo State governor Rashidi Ladoja has been crowned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The ceremony took place at Mapo Hall in Ibadan on Friday, where Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde presented him with the staff of office at about 3:08 p.m.

President Bola Tinubu, alongside several state governors, ex-governors, traditional rulers, and religious leaders, attended the historic event to witness Ladoja’s formal installation as the new Olubadan.

Tinubu’s convoy got to the venue around 2:25 p.m. on Friday, with Governor Makinde receiving him.

He was accompanied by the governors of Ondo, Ekiti, and Osun states – Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Biodun Oyebanji, and Ademola Adeleke.

The President left Abuja earlier in the day, departing from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 12:45 p.m., and traveled to Ibadan for the event.

KanyiDaily recalls that Rashidi Ladoja became the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan following the death of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin on July 7, 2025.
