Many Feared Dead As Explosion Rocks DICON Factory In Kaduna

An explosion rocked the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) factory in the Kakuri Industrial area of Kaduna South, leaving several people injured and at least one confirmed dead.

The blast, which occurred on Saturday morning around 10 a.m., sent shockwaves across nearby communities in Kaduna South and Chikun, causing panic among residents.

DICON management has not issued an official statement about what triggered the explosion at the time of filing this report.

However, military personnel have sealed off the affected area, while those injured were quickly taken to nearby hospitals for emergency care.

KanyiDaily also reported how a passenger train heading from Abuja to Kaduna derailed on Tuesday morning, sparking fear among travelers and their families.
