The National Assembly has reopened the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, located in Suite 2.05 of the Senate Wing, clearing the way for her return after a six-month suspension.

KanyiDaily recalls that last week, the Kogi Central lawmaker notified the Senate of her intention to resume duties.
On Tuesday, officials of the Sergeant-at-Arms, supported by security personnel, unlocked her office, signaling that the standoff between Senator Natasha Akpoti and Senate President Godswill Akpabio may be easing.
With her office now accessible, Akpoti-Uduaghan has regained entry into the National Assembly complex and could soon return to legislative activities.
Sources revealed that the decision was part of preparations for her likely resumption when plenary reconvenes on October 7, 2025.
According to Vanguard, sources revealed that senate leaders reached an understanding during a closed-door meeting.
The plan is for Minority Leader Abba Moro (PDP, Benue South) to table a motion requiring Akpoti-Uduaghan to offer an apology.
Once seconded, the motion is expected to be adopted, effectively restoring her seat in the chamber.
The senator, who once chaired the Committee on Diaspora and NGOs, was suspended in March 2025 for alleged misconduct.
The decision came after she protested the reassignment of her seat by Senate President Akpabio during a heated session on February 20.
The suspension barred her from participating in all 10th Senate activities for six months.
Although the suspension ended in September, Natasha Akpoti had been unable to return due to legal complications and continued resistance from Senate leadership.
KanyiDaily recalls that the Senate previously rejected Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s bid to return to the chamber, insisting that her six-month suspension is still valid until the Court of Appeal rules on her case.
